It’s been many years since I created the Internet, and I saw that it was good. But then what? What more could I possibly do that could even compare to that previous monolithic achievement? Well, it finally came to me – a Turbo Jet Jeep Racing MOD for Battlefield 2.

BF2RACING is a custom mod for BF2 that features 8 fast and furious dirt tracks, custom starting gates, great music, lots of funny billboards and signs, and souped-up FAAV pipe buggies fitted with a jet engine and damage-reducing suspensions. It’s just for racing fun, so you won’t find too many weapons of mass destruction on these maps.

The racing mod is uploaded to a test server and everything seems to be working fine, but the testing phase isn’t over just yet. Once the racing mod is released to the public, it will be uploaded to BF2Files.com and should be available on my downloads page there:

The racing maps were originally designed to be installed into the standard BF2 game and many of you have some (or all) of those original race maps on your computer. If you do have any of those race maps in the Levels folder of your BF2 installation, you will need to delete them before installing this custom racing mod, otherwise you invite a crash-to-desktop situation and the entire world as you know it will cease to exist. Or maybe not. I will make available both a Client version of the mod and a Server version for any clans interested in running the mod on their own server

The maps were re-designed with competitive play in mind and each track has a finish line wire, judges booths, and a Blackhawk helicopter for overhead observation of the race. There is a flag at the finish line that turns the instantly when triggered. All racers must join the US team and only players on the US team can enter any of the race vehicles. (This was done so that all competitors will be displayed on the mini-map). The race tracks are well marked so there is no reason for anyone to “stray” from the course.

The Racing Server Is Offline

I am no longer hosting the BF2 Racing Server at my own expense. This site will remain online and the racing MOD will continue to be available for download.
